However, whether he is to be distinguished, as Valesius, Tillemont, and certain others have done, from that Quadratus, the Bishop of Athens—of whom Dionysius of Corinth writes in Eusebius—and from that Quadratus who undertook the defense of the Christian religion before the Emperor Hadrian: this is a question which Grabe seems to me to have solved quite clearly B against Cave and those who followed them, such as Fabricius, Clericus, and Cyprian; by whom, indeed, the opinion of St. Jerome is proven—he who taught, once and again, that there was one and the same Quadratus, a disciple of the apostles, endowed with the prophetic gift, the author of the Apology, and the Bishop of Athens; as will become evident to anyone who carefully considers the texts we have brought forward.

The works of our Savior were always present, for they were real: those who were healed and those who were raised from the dead. They were seen not only when they were being healed and raised up, but they were ever present. And they persisted for a considerable time, not only while the Savior was sojourning upon earth, but also after his departure; so that some of them have even reached our own times.
